Innovative APPlications for the augmented use of satellite observations to support Air Quality management
Real time and archived satellite data were provided together with other air quality data (surface measurements, emission data, model results) for end users (e.g. authorities). The large spatial coverage and fast availability of satellite data provided an added value for environmental assessment studies. A customizable data management platform was used and further developed to enable air pollution authorities and experts an integral view about air pollution patterns over Europe and particularly Austria.
Hard Facts
We aimed to foster new and improved satellite data exploitation techniques, combining them with existing ancillary data to enhance the overall utility the satellite products for air quality monitoring, now, in the near future and beyond.
